Tough times

Hello, I am Caroline. I loved school so much I wanted to go everyday. But that all changed one day. I dated a boy all my friends told me not to date. Even my parents told me not to date him. I was stubborn and did anyways. His cousin didn’t like me so much. She started a rumor that I will never forget. They said I slept around. Everyone called me names. It ruined my life. Then one day I decided that I don’t care what people think about me. I’ll let people think. Everyone has a right to think. Currently, I am homeschooled and make friends everywhere I go. I will never look back to the past. From then on, I kept moving forward. So should other people who get bullied or have rumors told about them.

I cried myself to sleep every night during that time. I never wanted to show my face in school again. Everyone called me names and looked at me. I felt insecure. Yes, it was tough.

If it wasn’t for my mom, I would most likely still be hurt from the situation. My mom told me something I’ll never forget. She said, “Why spend your whole life wondering what people think or say about you? If you love yourself and are happy with who you are, you’ll live life to the fullest and not care what other people think.” I listened to her and stuck up for myself. I said goodbye to all my friends and left school. My message to people would have to be that you will always have people talk about you and not like you. Most people are just jealous or bored with their own lives, so they waste their lives on yours. Don’t pay attention to other people because if you do, they will only try harder to be noticed.

Life will be hard, and good and bad stuff may happen to you. You just have to be strong.
