I am Holly. I am 18. I am the youngest of six. My family is my life through the good and the bad. I love to help others and make sure they know they have someone out there who cares.
When I was around 11 or 12, I was staying with my oldest sister and her boyfriend. I was there almost every weekend for a month. After about the third weekend, my sister’s boyfriend touched me. Being so young, I didn’t understand. So I didn’t tell anyone about it for a while. I finally broke down and told one of my sisters, who then told me he tried the same with her. We kept this a secret for a while, ashamed of what had happened. We then told another sister, who let our parents know what we hid for so long.
It took me a long time to talk about this incident with my family and friends. But once I worked up the courage, they all supported and helped me get through it. If it wasn’t for my family and friends, I don’t know what I would have become. They helped show me that there are people out there like that. But it’s nothing to be ashamed of if it happens. The right thing to do is to get help and make sure the subject isn’t taken lightly. There is help out there, and there are people who care.
I am now going to college to own my own business, so I can help people who need it!
