Parents and Teachers

Parent, Guardian, Grandparent, Person-that-knows-teenagers:

  • Encourage teens to explore - They can read real stories from other young people or jump into our moderated forums to get support from our trained youth volunteers and over 17,000 members.

  • Share our fact sheets -  Talking about tough issues with a teen can be hard. We make it easier by covering a wide range of the common challenges young people face in fact sheets written by young people and reviewed by mental health professionals. Share one through a list-serv to other parents or colleagues or with a teen you know, or have a read to see things from a young person;s perspective.

  • Join the mental health movement - Write to your local school, mayor, newspaper, and tell them about the importance of mental health stigma reduction, and suicide prevention, and that is working on both of those issues.

  • Donate - A small gift can make a huge impact to our ability to run programs and reach young people across the country. If you can spare $10 or more, make an online donation here or text GIVE 6900 to 80100 and reply YES to the confirmation message. Charges will be made on your wireless bill to fundrasing platform Global Giving. At any time you can Text STOP to 80100 to STOP or Text HELP to 80100 for HELP. You must be 18 years of age or have parental permission to participate.
