    I am scared.

    Hello,

My name is Nick. I live in Greece and i am 14 years old. And ... I am gay. I am feeling very bad. I don't know how to tell this to my parents, my friends and my family. I think everyone will just push me away and my parents won't accept it. Here in Greece everyone is so homophobic. I am realy scared. Yesterday i was thinking if i am normal and i started crying. I don't know what i can do.

Please if you can give me some advice or something.

    ~Nick

Hello, and welcome to ReachOut iamnick! We’re so glad to have you talking with us today!

It sounds like you are putting a lot of thought into whether or not you’d like to come out to your family and friends. It must be scary to think about the what ifs, such as if they will push you away or not accept you. I’m really sorry to hear that there isn’t much acceptance where you live. I can only imagine how much that adds to the way you are feeling. I’m going to include some fact sheets which have a lot of information and thinking points about coming out. The first one even has a list of 10 questions to ask yourself, and they all include additional resources.

The choice to come out is completely yours. Who you come out to, how you say it, and when is also all up to you. I think a lot of us (maybe even all) often wonder if we're normal. Not that you need anybody's approval, but I think you're normal! Love yourself, accept yourself, and be kind to yourself!

I want you to know that we are all here for you! You are not alone!
